Biography
Heather has always had a desire to help others. Being a sociable person that strives to connect with people and help them through difficult times, Heather knew that family law would be the best way for her to make an impact. Heather has been a Law Clerk at Grinke Stewart Family Law for the past two summers and is learning how to navigate family law matters from our attorneys and staff.
Having been born and raised in Texas, Heather is no stranger to Frisco, and has grown up in the area her entire life. After graduating from Wakeland High School, Heather attended Texas Tech University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and graduated summa cum laude. She is currently a third-year law student at Southern Methodist University.
At SMU, Heather is involved in organizations such as Women-in-Law, Family Law Association, and Board of Advocates. During her first year of law school, Heather was named the Best Speaker in her round at the Jackson Walker Moot Court Competition. Since then, Heather has advanced her passion for advocacy with the help of her Mock Trial Team. She and her team recently competed in the National Trial Competition hosted by the Texas Young Lawyers Association. It is important to Heather to gain real world experience working with individuals while in law school, which she has accomplished by participating in the VanSickle Family Law Clinic and working with individuals through the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program. Heather’s involvement in the clinic allowed her to work one-on-one with her own clients and progress their unique family law cases. Heather was recently honored to be named to the Dean’s List for her academic accomplishments this past year.
During her free time, Heather enjoys running, playing with her energetic puppy, Maverick, and spending time with her family and friends.
